Misako Cook
Founder & CEO
I’m the CEO and co-founder of Lei Systems LLC, a founder-led consulting firm focused on one challenge many organizations struggle with: turning strategy into reliable execution.
Over the past two decades I’ve worked across the full lifecycle of building and running complex systems—as a software engineer, engineering leader, product leader, and later as a technical project manager at Amazon before becoming a co-founder.
That experience allows me to see both the strategic and operational sides of product development and delivery.
Lei Systems was established in the U.S. in 2025 as the continuation of UP&UP Corporation, the company I co-founded in Japan in 2016.
Across both companies, our work has centered on helping organizations develop complex products—including electronics and hardware systems—while I often work directly with leadership teams to strengthen how those organizations execute.
I’ve led and advised transformation efforts across 20+ organizations in industries including SaaS, manufacturing, retail, finance, and professional services.
Having grown up in Japan and built much of my career in the United States, I bring a cross-cultural perspective that helps organizations navigate complexity with both rigor and respect.

With a career spanning startups to Fortune 100 companies, I’ve led the design and implementation of robust, future-proof solutions across hardware, mechanical systems, firmware, cloud infrastructure, and mobile platforms.
My work consistently emphasizes adaptability, scalability, and thoughtful engineering over short-term fixes.
Grounded in Agile practices and test-driven development, I take pride not only in what I build, but in how it’s built—through mentorship, collaboration, and a relentless commitment to quality.
I believe the best systems are elegant under the hood, resilient in the real world, and empowering for the people who create them.
